slow but steady

im the type to do everything that i can possibly do before it needs to be done (well, this is a selective ocd behavior). it seriously pays off later, trust me. so far i have tagged any inventory that has come in, which includes... reusable shopping bags, clothing galore, and jewelry. who doesn't like to go to the post office and get tons of boxes, or have the ups man drive up every other day? i sure as heck love it. along with inventory, i have been getting all the necessary items ordered too, hangers, mannequins, hang tags and other miscellaneous printing. today i volunteered my mom to help put on these clear grip things for the bamboo hangers, they were a pain in the you know what, but we got THAT out of the way. i also strung and hole-punched 100+ hang-tags along with ordering more inventory, and addressing invitations. this is fun. seriously. when does the hard part come? hopefully never.

sustainability: get used to it

I love this blog post from the site little green submarine, because not only does it talk about how sustainable building and thinking is the way to go, but also that it is here to stay. This mind set shouldn't be skipped, since in order to sustain our planet for hundreds of more years, we need to be conscious of our impact. Whether it's for daily life, eating, building, travel or clothing we should be extremely educated about how to sustain ourselves.

My motto: "Clothing isn't optional, your fabric content is."

" Anyone out there who still thinks sustainable building design, construction and operations are fads, should think again. Regardless of how you feel about climate change, sustainability is here to stay. And all signs point to a time in the not-too-distant future when retailers and other commercial building owners won’t have a choice—sustainability will be mandated, not voluntary."
